Who am I?

My name is Gage Keagan and I was born and raised in a suburban town west of Indianapolis. I was introduced to music and video games at a very young age and have since dreamed of someday being a part of an amazing industry of entertainment. I eventually learned just how to do all these things at Full Sail University and I’d say the greatest experience I have had was my hands on training at this amazing school. I graduated in 2016 with a Bachelor's of Science in Recording Arts Audio engineering.

Video Games

Games have been a huge part of my life. I have played World of Warcraft since 5th grade, Halo since kindergarten, and a variety of all sorts of games since the Nintendo 64, original Xbox, and PC games like Dungeon Keeper and Rise of Nations. I have always found sound effects in game audio to be incredibly fascinating. After the release of Halo 2 I watched a behind the scenes documentary on its making and felt inspired by the sound design and overall soundscape of the series. Ever since I have aspired to be a sound designer for video games.

Music

I picked up a guitar and began lessons for it around middle school. It has been a fun hobby and on going passion of mine since. I also picked up singing and eventually started my journey of audio engineering by recording covers of songs I liked. I found that I enjoyed the engineering side of music and audio in general from this experimentation, but I still consider myself a musician and enjoy writing music.

How can I Help and What to Expect from Me.

I learn new skills very quickly, and find my own ways of utilizing them. I spend time thinking of ways to optimize my workflow and improve my skills when I can. It is important to me that I am someone that is proficient but, more importantly, someone you can depend on. I can be a team player and I want to be a part of making an audience feel as though they are apart of what they are experiencing. Whether I am creating the music, engineering the music, or crafting the sound effects. I love my work in audio and am very passionate about doing it well. I believe sound effects and music are a pivotal aspect of any immersive experience.
